Juanita Turner Photography

Artist Statement:

Where I live, on the Monterey Peninsula, is my foremost inspiration.  I am endlessly inspired by the beauty and diversity of this area from the hills to the sea.  I spend a lot of time outdoors hiking with my dog and mountain biking and love to photograph and share the things I see, especially details and abstractions in composition, form, light and texture.

 

Biography:

Juanita was born in Germany into a U.S. military family and was fortunate to be exposed to some of the world’s great art during family vacations throughout Europe.  She started painting and exploring photography in high school.
 
Juanita pursued her BFA at U.C.L.A. and moved back up to the Monterey Peninsula where she has lived for the last 20 years.

 

Juanita’s photography has been published in The Huffington Post and The Monterey County Weekly. Her works have been exhibited at various local establishments. She is a regular contributor to the Miniatures Show at the Monterey Museum of Art.  She is also a contributing photographer for Getty Images.
